Hey, I'm John. I'm in my early 20's and I'm an Eagle Scout.

I love getting lost in the woods. when I'm not stuck at my cubicle. I'm off in the woods with my brother, who is equally obsessed with the outdoors as I am.

Now I technically don't have one of those fancy photography degrees, I was never a 'sit down and learn from a book' type of man, but rather get my hands on it and do somethings about it. 3 years working and learning with a notable photography studio that offers school portraits across the state of Wisconsin taught me so much more than a classroom with deadlines will ever teach. Very proud to say that in my time there, I was the go to photographer for any special needs students, because I knew how to crack a smile on everyone who sat in my booth. I am a proud applicant to the prestiged YouTube University, for everything, how to fix my car, how to 3D animate in Blender, how to budget. You can truly learn anything on the internet these days.

Life is filled with so much information and opportunities to learn once you can spot those chances, your mind becomes a sponge. If you aren't learning something once a day what's the point? Or at least, that's my point of view on it. Everyone has one of those anxiety rectangles with access to the collective knowledge of human learning, so why not use it to learn? Ya' know?

My Co-Worker told me that this paragraph "radiates Live - Laugh - Love energy", so hopefully that's your vibe, and I lived up to it. If its not, my deepest apologies to you.

Homeschooled

I've always had a camera in my hands.

From the Walgreen's disposables on every family vacation or the $7 Canon Point and shoot I got from goodwill as a surprise.

Since the start

Growing up I was homeschooled. My parents saw that I was a touch more involved with my camera, and so instead of having a normal art class, it would be "go for a walk and take pictures".

Eagle Scout

Going through the boy scout program really added to who I was, especially though the edgy teenager years, most notably the photography merit badge. One of the requirements was to talk to a 'Professional Photographer' and boy, was that the final straw.

I’d best describe my style as “documentative.”

my preferred editing style as “deep browns and rich oranges,” almost like a sunset, akin to the feeling of some film photos.

I prefer moments as they happen: Crying smiles, deep laughs, and moments you hope to remember. Not posed, rigid, stylized photography for every picture. Posing is a tool to be used at the right times, not my only one.
